A Forbes Under 30 Impact Scholar and alumna of renowned organizations like EMILY’s List, Organizing for Action, It’s On Us, NextGen America, iGNiTE National, Running Start, Arena Academy, and many more, Kady Cox is a powerhouse in political strategy, nonprofit leadership, and grassroots empowerment. Her campaign experience includes contributions to notable candidates such as Jon Ossoff, Mike Bloomberg, and others.

Kady’s political journey is marked by significant milestones. She most recently held the position of Organizing Director for The People’s Action, where she led civic engagement initiatives rooted in deep community organizing. She also served as Regional Organizing Director for When We All Vote, the national nonpartisan initiative co-founded by Michelle Obama, and as Relational Organizing Program Manager at a Michigan-based community organization.

Earlier in her career, Kady worked in The White House under President Barack Obama, managing a team in the Office of Presidential Correspondence. She also served as an Administrative and Constituent Relations Assistant to the Mayor of Lansing and as a Legislative Assistant in the Michigan House of Representatives. Additionally, she was a member of the Women’s Advisory Committee for Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence of Michigan’s 14th Congressional District.

Kady recently held a position as a Project Administrator for a Legal Defense Fund, continuing her legacy of supporting equity-focused initiatives. She is also a proud Member-Ambassador of the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce, where she continues to uplift small businesses and community organizations through partnership and advocacy.

Her commitment to service shines through her previous role as Chair of the Grants and Community Service Committee for The Rotary Club of Detroit to her current role as Social Committee Chair — showcasing her continued dedication to her Detroit roots. A proud graduate of Michigan State University, Kady is the Founder of Raising Awareness with Students (RAWS), a Detroit-based nonprofit tackling minority health disparities in urban communities. RAWS’ mission is to end the plague of minority health disparities deeply rooted in urban communities, with a primary focus on disease prevention, fitness, nutrition, mental health, and diabetes awareness. Through RAWS, she has collaborated with institutions like Harvard Medical School and Wayne State University to create impactful local and international programming.

In 2025, as RAWS celebrated its 10-year anniversary, Kady was honored with three major recognitions: the Spirit of Detroit Award from City Council President Mary Sheffield, a Mayoral Proclamation from Mayor Mike Duggan, and a Governor’s Tribute from Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist.

Kady is also the Principal Consultant at Cox Consulting Agency, where she supports nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations in advancing their grassroots initiatives. Cox Consulting Agency provides two core service areas:

• Nonprofit Development & Compliance — guiding small nonprofits and businesses through entity formation, 501(c)(3) applications, LLC formations, compliance paperwork, and building sustainable systems and governance structures.

• Civic Education & Advocacy Training — contracting with schools and institutions to deliver the Political Advocacy Training Academy (PATA), which equips students to see advocacy and organizing as viable, professional career paths.

In her spare time, Kady enjoys participating in the water basketball and bowling leagues at the Detroit Athletic Club. She also loves traveling, dressing up, creating fun content, and embracing life to the fullest.
